FAQ / HOW TO

Hey, Jeremy here to answer a few FAQs about Don't Play With Dead Things.

 1) DO I NEED SPECIAL EQUIPMENT TO PLAY?

No. The game is played on a custom platform similar to Zoom. If you have used Zoom at all during the last few years you already have all you need. We need to be able to see you and hear you so if your device has a camera and microphone you're all set. We'll send you a link before your booked slot and all you have to do is click it to open it in your web browser. We handle everything else.

2) COOL BUT HOW DO I ACTUALLY PLAY?

The game is about group decisions so you'll play by talking to the other players. Sometimes you'll be asked to arrive at consensus to make a choice but for the majority of the game you'll be giving verbal commands to an actor playing the character of Husk. They'll do whatever you ask them to.

3) GREAT BUT WHAT'S THE FUCKING POINT?

The goal of Don't Play With Dead Things is purposefully obscured. Figuring out the goal is one of the primary challenges you'll face.

4) I DON'T LIKE HORROR

OK, this isn't really a question but I hear you. Don't Play With Dead Things is a comedy horror so the focus is on being fun and entertaining, not necessarily harrowing or upsetting. There's a list of trigger warnings avaliable as well. It's a fun, funny horror experience and shouldn't cause any lingering distress or nightmares.

5) SWEET I LOVE FUN AND HORROR HOW CAN I MAXIMISE THAT?

I totally encourage setting your own atmosphere. Maybe some headphones so you can enjoy the immersive soundtrack, perhaps a little privacy so you won't be interuppted and maybe even some dimmed lights to create the perfect atmosfear at home. Not a full blackout though, it's great if we, and people watching, can see your face!

6) CAN TWO PEOPLE SHARE A SCREEN?

No we require each player to log on through a unique device. One player per screen, this helps manage the experience. Sorry.
